How To: Pineapple Flowers

All of this beautiful weather we have been having has made me want to eat lots of fruit and make lots of fruity desserts. I've been on a strawberry cake kick for the past few days.... as well as a fresh squeezed lemonade kick, yum!!

Strawberry cake is paired best with cream cheese icing....white chocolate cream cheese to be exact. Cream cheese icing isn't the best for piping cute designs or borders onto your cake or cupcakes, so what else can you do to make your cake look just as good as you know it tastes? Adding flowers to cakes and cupcakes is always a simple way to make your desserts look pretty and presentable. Sugar flowers can be tedious and time consuming (you also have to have all of the necessary tools), so I like to use real flowers whenever possible, but there are occasions when I just want to try my hand at being a little more creative. When I saw this tutorial on one of my favorite blogs I knew that I had to make these pineapple flowers asap! They really are very easy, and turn out beautifully!! Check out the tutorial on Annie's Eats.

Add these pineapple flowers to your next cake or batch cupcakes to create a beautiful dessert to share with your friends or family. I will definitely be making these again soon. I hope you all are enjoying this beautiful weather as much as I am!
